Frequently asked questions

Are external CSS stylesheets supported?
Yes. If you provide a full URL or paste HTML with inline/embedded CSS, the styles will be rendered accurately in the PDF.
Will JavaScript be executed?
No. For security and stability, JavaScript is not executed during rendering. Only static HTML and CSS are processed.
Can I convert a live URL to PDF?
Currently, you must paste the HTML code or upload an HTML file. Direct URL fetching is planned for a future update.
What page sizes are supported?
You can choose from standard sizes like A4, Letter, and Legal, or set custom dimensions.
Are images in the HTML included?
Yes, as long as the images use absolute URLs or are base64 encoded within the HTML.

Capturing Web Pages as Documents

Converting HTML to PDF is incredibly useful for saving receipts, archiving articles, capturing dashboards, or generating invoices from web-based systems. Unlike taking a screenshot—which results in a low-resolution image file—an HTML to PDF conversion preserves the text as selectable, searchable text, and maintains the vector quality of CSS shapes and SVG icons.

Rendering Challenges

Translating an endless, fluid web layout into fixed-size physical pages (like A4 or US Letter) is complex. Our conversion engine renders the HTML, executes the JavaScript, loads the external stylesheets and web fonts, and then carefully paginates the layout. It handles page breaks intelligently to avoid cutting lines of text or images in half, resulting in a professional, print-ready document.
